ALDINGA- He may be disguised as a Melbournian, but Big Brother's most popular housemate and hard-core rocker was born and bred in Aldinga.
Michael Crafter, 26, entered Channel 10's Big Brother house on Sunday night, having acquired the most votes from the Australian public on the reality television show's website.
Although Michael now lives in Melbourne, his parents and long time Aldinga residents, Peter (the pro at McCracken Golf Club) and Dianne Crafter, were told to keep the news a secret.
"No-one realised he's from here, but I've got a big mouth and Peter always talks at the golf club … and I'm certainly not having my son called a Victorian," Dianne said.
The former front man of metal core band I Killed the Prom Queen was dubbed the biggest threat to the housemates for the Big Brother title, but his mother said his tattoo plastered arms can be deceiving.
"Australia's number one threat- he's just a big sooky," Dianne said.
From likening a housemate's cooking to dog food to admitting his girlfriend is a terrible cook, the Crafters have been closely watching Michael on the internet at Big Brother Live and predict their opinionated son may get himself into trouble.
"All we can hear is his loud deep voice, he doesn't shut up," Dianne said.
Peter and Dianne have invited a crowd of friends around tomorrow night to have a laugh at their son's amusing antics on the Friday games show.
Ensuring Michael refrains from swearing and appears appropriately groomed were Dianne's primary concerns.
"He's had some weird looks in his times, but I told him to just look good on the day he went in the house," she said.
"Apparently he did his hair about ten times; his girlfriend said it was like watching a girl get ready."
Dianne said she and Peter were not the least bit surprised by their hyperactive son's Big Brother ambitions, who often finds happiness outside of mainstream ideals.
