VICTOR HARBOR - Three local teens will make their musical mark on the town next weekend with the launch of their own music video.
The GMF Band, consisting of siblings Danni, Steff and Josh Palombi, will launch a new video for their song Alive, at a concert at the Victor Harbor Town Hall on November 6.
The Victor Harbor High School has a starring role in the clip, which was filmed in Steff’s classroom on a Sunday thanks to a prize from Young Australia Productions.
“It was weird going to school on a Sunday, and even weirder having a drum kit in my classroom,” Steff said.
The trio’s dad, Tony Palombi, said the music video was one of two the band was lucky enough to film as part of the prize.
“It is quite a major achievement, not many people have filmed a music video, and it is probably the first one ever to be filmed at Victor Harbor High School,” Tony said.
Danni, 17, Steff, 14, and Josh, 13, who all go to Victor Harbor High School, write, produce and perform all of their own music.
“They have worked out a really good process where Josh and Danni do most of the writing and then they will call Steff and say ‘sing this’,” Tony said.
“She makes it all sound better,” Josh said.
The GMF Band has been together for three years, and so far there haven’t been too many creative differences between the talented siblings.
“We don’t fight, we ‘discuss’ the Italian way,” Steff said.
The band’s upcoming concert at the Town Hall will include new music from the GMF Band, the launch of their ‘Alive’ music clip, and if you are lucky you could win the door prize - a brand new iPod Nano.
“It’s not going to be boring,” Josh promised.
“We are really targeting school students to get along, but anyone and everyone is welcome, it is a family friendly show,” Tony said.
The GMF Band Come Alive! Concert will be held at the Victor Harbor Town Hall on Friday November 6, with support entertainment from Scott ‘Strongman’ Owen and the men from Extreme Influence who demonstrate their incredible feats of strength.
Part proceeds from the concert are going to Teen Challenge to assist with drug and alcohol education.
