FOOTBALL: Langhorne Creek star onballer Randall Follett won his second Mail Medal in three years on Wednesday August 27 at the Senior Mail Medal count held at the Hotel Victor.
Follett polled 21 votes to defeat Encounter Bay's Owen Love on 19 votes, with Willunga star duo Adam Carnevale (18 votes) and Mitch Portlock (17 votes) not far behind.
Myponga/Sellicks' Shaun Hutchinson polled extremely well to also finish with 17 votes in a team that won only three games.
In the Reserves, Langhorne Creek kept producing the winners with Anthony Tonkin winning a nail biter by one vote.
Tonkin polled 18 votes and won from Willunga's Ben Gibson who polled 17.
Mount Compass star Jim Batzavalis was an early leader in the count and finished on 14 votes.
GSFL life membership was awarded to Terry Thompson for his many loyal years of service to junior football in the league and player life memberships went to Shaun Hutchinson, Andrew Hutchinson, Damian Smith (all Myponga/Sellicks), Craig Littlely (Encounter Bay), Perrin Hicks (Mount Compass) and Matthew Radbone (Willunga).
The A grade goalkicking was won by David Hams (Willunga) with 111 goals and the reserves by Clint Howes (Willunga) with 76 goals.
Willunga won Club of the Year and the Demons were also presented with the inaugural McCracken Cup, while Willunga A grade coach Barry Pilmore was presented with Coach of the Year.
