FOOTBALL: Great Southern have chosen a training squad for selection in the A Grade team to play against the River Murray League at Mypolonga on Saturday June 6.

Coaches are Barry Pilmore and Simon Dennis (Assistant) with a selection panel comprised of Brenton Smith, Greg Whittlesea and Peter Maxfield.

There will be two training sessions at 6.30pm on Tuesday June 2 and Thursday June 4 at Strathalbyn and players are requested to train in their Club Guernsey.

The junior squads were announced in The Times on May 7 and will have four training sessions.

Two have been completed at Encounter Bay and Strathalbyn and the next two will be at Goolwa on May 27 and Willunga on June 3.

The GSFL will also unveil their new Guernseys for the association match with the juniors being sponsored by Fleurieu Milk.

“The A grade and senior colts will have new guernsey’s this year, which now completes the replacement across all grades,” GSFL president Gordon Tonkin said.

“The GSFL would like to thank our major sponsors Fleurieu Milk (Junior Grades), West End (A Grade), Ross Faulkner & Sports Centre for their support, which has enabled us to achieve this.

“The junior grades are in good hands under the control of GSFL executives Neville Miller and Gav Correll.

“They have appointed quality coaches in Ryan Bridges, Mark McGuiness James Hoffman and Scott Baggs for these teams and having watched junior football across the GSFL since round one, I can confidently say we have a great number of emerging quality junior footballers to select from,” Tonkin said confidently.
