SURF LIFESAVING: Junior state titles were held at Somerton last weekend with glorious weather on the Saturday and not so nice on the Sunday, but it did not stop Port Elliot from excelling all weekend.

The final medal tally was four gold, two silver and one bronze, the best overall haul for a number of years.

Under 9 - ‘The Young Ones’

Max Harry, two gold medals in wade and flags, 7th in sprints and 10th in boards.

Marcus Lippett, gold medal in the sprint, silver medal in wade, 11th in flags final, also competed in boards.

Matthew Read came 6th in both the wade and the sprints final, 10th in flags final.

Lachie Williams was a semi-finalist in wade and sprints, also competed in boards

These boys combined together in a dynamic beach relay team winning gold. They also would have won the silver medal in wade relay but were disqualifed for failing to tag correctly.

Special thanks Matt Harry, his extra baton changing training on Thursday night obviously paid off.

Morgan Kennedy dashed like she was being ambushed in the sprints, also did an awesome effort in the boards in a tough heat and just missed making the semi-final.
