SURFING: Local wave riders Max Longhurst and Khai Adams will feature in a brand new television series starting this Sunday.

Next Wave will air for the first time on Channel Ten and is a program to unearth a taste of the big time for Australia’s junior surfers.

Fuelled by Fantastic Noodles, Next Wave was filming recently at Waitpinga Beach.

Australia’s junior surf professionals, including Adams and Longhurst, will be showcasing their incredible talents in homes all over Australia.

In each episode, Next Wave ventures into the lives of the nation’s greatest junior surfers who may one day go on to claim the holy grail of surfing, world champion.

Earlier this year Fantastic Noodles signed a sponsorship deal with Surfing Australia to sponsor the state title Events in Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia and the New South Wales regional junior titles and for the second year running they are the major sponsor of the South Australian Pro Junior.

Now they are creating this dynamic TV Series which unearths the essence of grassroots surfing in Australia and introduces our next generation of surfing idols.

“The new TV show Next Wave is not just for the surfing obsessed. Each program follows our elite juniors, including top talent Teale Vanner, Owen Wright and Laura Enever, from House to Ocean meeting their families, friends and fellow surfers along the way, as we find out what drives these boys and girls to commit their young lives to surfing,” Fantastic Noodles brand manager Anouska Thomson said.

Next Wave is hosted by Pro surfer Toby Martin with both the events and the lifestyle surrounding this most unique sub-culture will be revealed.

A light hearted segment will also play out in each episode where novice surfing celebrities are challenged to compete against each other in their own heat dubbed, “Celebrity Drop-In”.

Xavier Rudd, Erin McNaught, Trevor Hendy, Shannan Ponton and Maz Compton will be waxing their surfboards in preparation for competition.

The television series will culminate in a world first, the Fantastic Noodles Intense Wave Invitational.

In this ninth and final episode, eight pro junior surfers will be towed into one of Australia’s gnarliest big wave locations, vying for $20,000 in prize money.
