She has the plate AGENT 1 on her car and now, Kathleen Fry has proven her mettle.

The real estate agent has been named as the top-selling sales consultant for the state’s largest agency network, Harcourts.

Kathleen, of Goolwa, received her award in front of more than 300 sales peers at the Harcourts’ Annual State Awards at a black-tie dinner at the Adelaide Zoo on Friday, May 8. About 25 people from the Harcourts South Coast team members – based at Victor Harbor and Goolwa – attended the event.

Kathleen thanks her clients on the south coast for their ongoing support over her time – 13 years – in the industry.

“Without the support of the locals and my friends and family - my partner Paul and my children Nathan, Daniel, Ellie and James - I wouldn't be up there receiving this award,” she said.

Kathleen gave special thanks to her personal assistant, Natalie Ekers, for her hard work and dedication.

She said real estate is about building up relationships with people, and trust. This included being personalised by having face-to-face conversations and phone calls with people.

“Don’t just rely on modern technology,” she said.

She will represent South Australia in the Harcourts national awards at Surfer’s Paradise on Monday, May 25.

Harcourts South Coast principal, Mark Forde, spoke highly of Kathleen’s talents.

“She is a consummate real estate professional with a huge heart and massive capacity for working on behalf of her vendors and her community,” he said.

“There are very few people who have sold or bought a home on the south coast who haven’t come into contact with Kath and who won’t join me in congratulating her on achieving this milestone which is significant not just personally but for the region.”

“To my knowledge, this the first time a regionally-based real estate agent has out-performed agents from the metropolitan area so we’re not just celebrating Kath’s success but also the fact that the south coast has emerged as a key South Australian property market.

Other awards the local group received included best property management team, and Mandy Strauch of Encounter Bay was named among the state’s best property managers. Mark was named as one of the top-selling agency principals in the Harcourts SA network, and the Goolwa branch received the best Harcourts office.
