Rob Thomas announced to headline 2016 Clipsal 500 entertainment program

Grammy Award winning artist Rob Thomas is set to headline an exciting new entertainment program at next year’s Clipsal 500 Adelaide.

Sharing the stage with Rob Thomas at the Sunday concert is Australian blues rock band, The Black Sorrows featuring Vika and Linda Bull. Opening the show will be South Australian acts selected by Music SA.

Rob Thomas has been one of modern music’s most compelling and successful artists for well over a decade – between Matchbox Twenty, his solo work, and various collaborations with iconic artists like Santana, Mick Jagger and Willie Nelson, he’s sold over 80 million albums worldwide.

Next year also marks the 20-year anniversary of Matchbox’s Twenty’s first album Yourself or Someone Like You which ranks in Australia’s Top 40 highest selling albums ever made.

Announced by South Australia’s Tourism Minister Leon Bignell, the Saturday and Sunday concerts presented by Radio Mix 102.3FM will be a sensational addition to Australia’s largest motorsport event - with ICEHOUSE and ARIA Hall of Fame inductees, The Church, joining emerging South Australian acts.

“It’s really exciting to announce another huge concert line-up featuring a mix of international stars and prestigious Australian music talent,” Mr Bignell said.

“We’re expecting fans from all over Australia to descend on Adelaide next year to see world-class live performers at the iconic Clipsal 500 Adelaide.
