Nangawooka Flora Reserve will welcome members of the public into its midst for the annual spring open day and plant sale.
The open day will be held on Sunday, September 25, from 11am to 4pm.
Organisers of the day said the reserve “is looking magnificent after all this amazing rain”, with the range of flowering shrubs “quite stunning”. Kangaroo paws loved the 2016 wet winter and are flowering and growing well. For the second year, Greenhood Orchids (Pterostyllus sp) are also appearing in several places in the reserve.
Morning and afternoon tea will be for sale in the park, plus an all-day sausage sizzle. Native plant growers will sell a wide range of plants, and can also answer gardening queries attendees may have. A guided tour will be held at 2pm, by the original founder Don Overall.
Entry is free but a gold coin donation will be welcomed for ongoing plant purchases and labelling.
