The distinctive yellow of RAA’s Road Service vans will soon be spotted on country roads around Victor Harbor.

RAA has begun to roll out the iconic yellow vans to its contractors in regional SA, with the fifth van going to Fleurieu Automotive in Victor Harbor.

“The yellow vans are exactly the same as the vans our metropolitan patrols use,” said RAA Senior Manager Mobility and Automotive Policy Mark Borlace.

“The van is equipped with the same tools and equipment, as well as the same safety equipment as our metro vans.

“It’s also equipped with the necessary technology that allows our dispatch centre in Adelaide to assign road service tasks to our country contractors in a more efficient manner, and to track the delivery of each job.”

The new vans give local contractors the ability to better serve RAA members, with the van capable of carrying a larger range of RAA batteries.

“This is an exciting milestone for road service delivery in the Victor Harbor area,” said Mr Borlace.

“We imagine the sight of the yellow van coming down the road will be a welcome sight for any motorist needing some assistance.”

RAA plans to roll out more yellow vans to regional contractors in future.

Fleurieu Automotive began providing road service in 2013 and is also an RAA Approved Repairer.

Last financial year the team attended 3796 roadside assistance jobs and sold 769 RAA batteries.
