Victor Harbor defeats Mount Compass in football

It took Victor Harbor four quarters to overcome the reigning premiers, Mt Compass by eight points. Victor who held the lead at the first change with goals to youngsters Wade and Bramley, while Boots goaled for the visitors.

The second term was hindered by a torrential downpour with the only score being a point to Compass. 

Brown opened the second half with a goal for Victor. The duel between the big men Hoban and Banks in the ruck continued through the countless ball ups and throw ins. The run of Vitkunas, Merritt and Camac smashed head on with Weetra, Dowling, Osborne and Ross, as it was tough football.

Scores were level at the last change. Great work by Ross set up Osborne to snap an early goal and then Bramley emerged as the saviour. He kicked one, but Boots replied with a long running goal with 10 minutes to play. History repeated for Bramley as he booted the sealer
