Car hit by Cockle Train at Goolwa after failing to give way

GOOLWA – A man has been fined after failing to give way at a railway crossing, which resulted in his car being hit by the Cockle Train.

On Sunday, June 11, police attended the crash at Goolwa, where the 41-year-old Goolwa man had collided with the train.

The car had extensive damage from being dragged about 100 metres down the tracks.

The driver was lucky to escape with only minor injuries, but walked away with an expiation notice for not giving way at the crossing.
