City of Victor Harbor councillor Terry Andrews was at The Causeway to welcome BMG Films and for more than two hours he promoted Victor Harbor and the island.

“They  went over to Granite Island on the horse tram and loved the uniqueness of both the Clydesdale pulled horse tram and the magnificence of Granite Island,” Cr Andrews said.

The film is titled Friendship and will be screened in India.

Cr Andrews said there were two actors, four dancers and a crew of six involved in the production in Victor Harbor and the island.

“This goes to show how internationally recognised Granite Island is and will be,” Cr Andrews said.

“It was a real pleasure to meet the people involved in the filming and how fantastic it is going to be to have our great island showcased to the millions in India.

“They filmed from the top deck of the horse tram our great coastline and were in awe of the region we live in.

“It was amazing to see the actors dancing on the top deck, while the cameras were rolling.

“It is not often you gain such a cultural experience such as this on Granite Island.

“The actors and film crew all commented on the natural beauty of Granite Island. It made you feel so proud.”
