The hockey match of the weekend was the clash between Yankalilla and Aldinga Black at under 16 level. It was a high scoring match which ended in a draw five all. Both teams had chance to score early in the game, but it was Aldinga to score first. Yankalilla were quick to reply with goals to Will and Declan. By half time the score was equal after Aldinga scored.

Aldinga were fired up after the half time break and scored twice giving them a good lead before Yankalilla replied with Jordan scoring, followed by an equaliser from Aaron. Rhun for Yankalilla did a delightful poke jab to get the ball over the line, but Aldinga responded to even the score by full time.

In the Women’s match Yankalilla defeated Aldinga Green 3-0. Yankalilla dominated the attack, but were halted many times by Sarah Huntington, Aldinga’s goalie. However they did mange to do so on three occasions. In the under 13 competition Yankalilla  4 defeated Aldinga Black 0 and Goolwa defeated Victor White 1-nil.

Yankalilla dominated the game against Aldinga Black, as Finn scored twice in the first half. Aldinga came out strong at the start of the second half, but it was Yankalilla who scored twice more through Jackson. 

Victor White was under manned against Goolwa missing key player Hassan Singh. Piper Hudson, Trinity Law and Jacob Haythorpe worked hard. Selena Arens was a key player for Goolwa. Adam Pain, Victor’s goalie played like a champion and saved many attempts at goal. He had support from Zac Tunbridge. Goolwa scored through Seth Wilson. Victor White had two new players up from under 10s Teliah Simpson and Charlotte Pedler  who did a great job. 

In the Women Victor Blue defeated Aldinga Black 12-nil. Alice Jagger for Victor worked well all game and Nat Gibbs was best on ground.
