VICTOR HARBOR – It is an event not to be missed. A fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, July 25, at the McCracken Convention Centre to ‘Get Sid to Hawaii’.

Sid James has been in training with good friend and champion triathlete Kevin Fergusson to take part in the Hawaiian Ironman later this year. Sid is a quadriplegic and has always dreamed of competing in the Ironman.

Kevin and Sid have competed in triathlon events the past few months. Kevin has to tow Sid 3.8 kilometres in the swim leg, 180 kilometres in the bike leg and 42.2 kilometres in the run.

The cost to attend the fundraiser is $50 per person. Guest speakers on the night will be Australian cricket coach Darren Lehmann, state cricketer and son of the Test coach Jake Lehmann and Kevin Fergusson.

Topics up for discussion will be the current contract negotiations between Cricket Australia and the players, the upcoming Ashes series, life at first class level and how difficult it is to compete in an Ironman. There are 50 seats left and to book contact Rob Heaslip at rob.heaslip@screalty.com.au
