VICTOR HARBOR – City of Victor Harbor will host the Stage 3 finish of the 2018 Tour Down Under on January 18, 2018. City of Victor Harbor mayor Graham Philp said securing the Stage 3 finish is a win for Victor Harbor and will bring many economic benefits.
“The Tour Down Under promotes Victor Harbor to a worldwide audience and it brings a great energy and atmosphere to our city. Spectators enjoyed the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the professional cyclists up to four times in 2017 and there was a fantastic vibe in our town centre,” Mr Philp said.
Stage three will involve McLaren Vale, Myponga, Yankalilla, Inman Valley and then three loops of Victor Harbor. Mike Turtur, Race Director, Santos Tour Down Under said the circuit in 2017 was a success.
“We have retained as part of the Stage 3 race route, the 13 kilometre finishing circuit with three laps along The Esplanade, Victor Harbor.”
The cost to host the Stage finish is approximately $30,000. The Tour Down Under will be held from Saturday, January 13, until Sunday, January 21.
