The South Lakes Golf Club will be hosting the Women’s Bronze Plate Country Meeting from July 25 to July 27. This tournament is for women golfers with Golf Australia handicaps of 28.1 to 45.4.
A spokesperson from the South Lakes Golf Club said the club expects a field of approximately 100 women golfers from around South Australia to compete in a number of events over the three days.

“There will be six events, which will make some very interesting golf over the three days and there will be golfers coming from all over the state and even interstate,” spokesperson said.
Event 1 will be the coveted Bronze Plate, which will be played over 36 holes of Stableford competition, 18 holes played on Tuesday and 18 holes played on Wednesday. Winner to hold Golf SA Plate for one year and there will be trophies for the winner and runner-up.
Event 2 is 18 holes of Stableford on Tuesday. Trophies for the winner, runner-up, best front nine and best back nine.
Event 3 (in conjunction with event 1) is the Veterans' event – 36 holes of Stableford competition. Open to players who have reached their 65th birthday by the first day of play. Trophies for the winner and runner-up.
Event 4 is 18 holes of Stableford on Wednesday. Trophies for the winner and runner-up.
Event 5 is Country versus Metro Salver. Country and Metro will be represented by 12 players each to be drawn from the entrants on the Monday preceding the first day of play. The best Stableford total on Tuesday will win the Salver.
Event 6 will be 18 holes of handicap foursomes stroke played on Thursday. Trophies for the winner, runner-up and best gross.
