Bulldogs looking good for finals

Mount Compass won the toss and kicked with the wind to the southern end. The Mudlarks pressure was good early keeping the ball in the contests. Pinyon kicked the Bulldogs first goal and they took a seven-goal lead into the first change.

The Bulldogs continued to attack in the second term as Hoban hit the ball forward in the ruck and the midfielders were swooping and creating opportunities. The Mudlarks solitary goal for the half came through Dahlitz.

The third quarter saw the Mudlarks take the fight to the Bulldogs as J Hutchinson in the ruck nullified Hoban while Clarke, Ogilvie and W Hutchinson in defence were on top. Mt Compass replied with goals from Prest, Lemm and Pittaway.

Light rain continued to fall in the last as the Mudlarks played their best quarter, while the Bulldogs managed only one behind. Pinyon provided a focal point for the Bulldogs up forward throughout the entire game.
