Inaugural Strathalbyn Football Club women's team in Adelaide Football Women's League division five grand final

STRATHALBYN – Strathalbyn’s inaugural women’s team will play in the Adelaide Footy Women’s League (AFWL) division five grand final this Friday, August 11.

The ladies take on Salisbury at Kenilworth Football Club, St Marys at 8.15pm.

The Roosters fielded teams in the Great Southern Football League Women’s competition earlier this year before its open side started the AFWL season.

Coached by Darcy Springhall, the side was arguably the strongest in its division, remaining undefeated until the final game of the season, and finishing one game clear of second-placed Salisbury.

Vice-captain Bree Leibhardt leads the team’s goal-kicking with 20 goals, and captain Morgan Tucker is second with 13.
