The latest Boxing SA tournament was held at the Waterside Workers Hall in Port Adelaide with 15 bouts on the card.

Victor Harbor Boxing Club had three competitors nominated. Laura Wright's opponent unfortunately had to withdraw, so first up was Cameron Reilly for his fourth bout. Cameron had been matched against Jordan RIchards a bigger and more experienced opponent, who had national championship experience.

Cameron was unable to work his way forward in his usual style and conceded several straight shots. He adjusted in rounds two and three and used more lateral movement and was able to score with some clean punches.

Cameron learnt from the match, but lost on points.

Ruby Brunker took on an elite kickboxer from the Willunga boxing/kickboxing gym. Ruby was able to adjust her distance a little better making her opponent punch short and countering well to get the judges nod.

All competitors will now set their sights on the state championships in September.
