ENCOUNTER BAY – The discovery of a car at the base of a cliff at The Bluff has resulted in a woman being reported for attempted deception.

Police patrols attended the scene after they received a report of a car going over the cliff on August 21.

Just before 9pm, police located a Holden sedan, but did not find anyone inside.

An investigation into the incident took place, and as a result, reported a Port Elliot woman for attempted deception on Tuesday, September 5.

It is alleged the 27-year-old, who owned the vehicle, allowed it to roll off the Bluff, before making a false claim to the company it was insured under.

The woman will be summonsed to appear in court and face the charge at a later date.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour should call the SA Police assistance line on 131 444.
