THROWING A PUNCH: Victor Harbor Boxing Club's Ruby Brunker has impressed national selectors and will compete in the World Youth Championships this November..

Victor Harbor Boxing Club's Ruby Brunker is set for her biggest boxing challenge yet.

Ruby will travel to India to compete in the World Youth Championships this November.

Ruby's performance at this year's National Championships caught the eye of the national selectors and they have granted her a position on the Australian Youth Team travelling to India to compete in the event.

As part of her preparation Ruby will be attending several training camps at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra under the guidance of National Development coach Don Abnett.

Ruby will also be competing interstate in Brisbane with the entire South Australian state team in preparation for the championships. 

Boxing coach at the the Victor Harbor Boxing Club Mark Nethercott said Ruby deserves the selection.

“We congratulate Ruby and wish her all the best as she competes on the world stage,” Mark said.

“She shows great discipline in the sport.”
