ENCOUNTER BAY – A man was arrested at Encounter Bay for his alleged involvement in an arson attack at Parkside in the southern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to a fire at a group of businesses on the corner of Unley Road and Clyde Street at 3am on Wednesday, September 27.

At 2.30pm that day, detectives from Sturt and Victor Harbor crime investigation branches arrested a 57-year-old Seaton man at an Encounter Bay premises and charged him with arson. 

He faced court the next day and was remanded in custody to appear in court again on December 5.

The total damage bill to the businesses is about $600,000.
