WINDING UP: Port Elliot A grade batsman Ryan Pooley has a big back lift to prepare to hit this delivery out of the park on Saturday in the match against Mount Compass.

On the first day of the match between Willunga and Noarlunga, Willunga won the toss and elected to bowl.

Noarlunga's openers Jason Scarff and Robbie McCard started well, scoring quickly to take the total to 51 off the first 15 overs.

However, a change of bowlers from both ends saw an immediate breakthrough for Willunga with Bruce Elliot picking up Scarff's valuable wicket for 13.

Simon Roberts picked up two wickets soon after the first drinks break, including McCard for 58 and this led to a slow, but steady collapse for Noarlunga.

Hamish Robertson offered some resistance in the middle order before he was picked up for 23.

Noarlunga managed make it to the 53rd over and were 5 for 123.

However, they then lost 5/ 4 in 3.2 overs in a dramatic and possible match deciding batting collapse.

Roberts finished with 4/29 off a continuous 21.2 over spell.

Sean McIvor came back in his second spell to clean up Noarlunga's tail and finish with 3/29.

Willunga had 15 overs to face at the end of the day and made their way cautiously to 1/27 with David Scarff picking up the only wicket for Noarlunga.

Willunga need 101 runs for victory on day two with Roberts on 17 not out and Harding on 9 not out.
