Victor Harbor Riding Club (VHRC) held its end of year gymkhana. Members were split into four age groups and competed in hack events in the morning judged by former VHRC member Jess Marnie, who competed in the UK last year, representing Australia in Show Horse. She is the third generation to be a club member.

After a Christmas lunch, where old club members joined the festivities, there were fun novelties. Points were tallied for the day and winners were Stella Carmichael, Bria Hastings, Mikayla Furniss and Deb Norwood.

The Special Yearly awards were presented to Lucy Pearce winning the Nan Scott Trophy (best and fairest) and also won the McEwin Shield (points for the year) with Maya Porter as the runner up. The Syd Grieg trophy for outstanding club member was awarded to Nicki Pearce and the Porter Trophy went to Mitchell Schuette.

The club has a break over Christmas and meets on the second Sunday of the month and will be starting 2018 rallies on February 11. Contact Kylie Clay 0408 243 456 or Tracey Leigh 0409 280 963, as new members are welcome.
