The Rotary Club of Goolwa raises a lot of funds for community projects and is in the midst of organising the Goolwa Art and Photographic Exhibition 2018, to be held at Signal Point from March 24 to April 7.
Before Christmas the Goolwa Rotary Club ran its Christmas stocking raffle. The raffle was drawn on Saturday, December 16, in the Goolwa Shopping Mall at 12 noon. The winner was Janice van der Penner.
A special presentation was made to Janice, who was accompanied by her husband by Rotary Club of Goolwa president Diane Keach and Rotary member Helen Hurford. The Rotary Club of Goolwa meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month and has a membership which is going to grow.
It currently stands at 23 and proceeds from the many fundraisers the club runs go to local projects. President of the Rotary Club of Goolwa Di Keach said the club is looking forward to one of its major fundraisers the Goolwa Art and Photographic Exhibition to be held in March.
“This has proved popular with local and interstate artists and we are also a club which has an environmental focus,” Di said.
The club is big supporters of the Goolwa Surf Lifesaving Club, CFS, SES, St John, Cancer Support Group and many other organisations in the region.
