Round 10 saw Goolwa host Yankalilla in a one day game.
The toss was won by Yank who elected to bat first on a perfect day for cricket. Runs were hard to come by as Jones and Ashton-Place had the ball on a string only conceding 14 runs from the first 10 overs.
Vincent came in to the attack and had immediate success trapping Whittlesea for just 3 runs. That was the first of many wickets for the home side and Yankalilla were on the ropes. It took some bottom order hitting from Kerin (29) and Trapolino (24) to bring the total to 9/116.
Kingsley the pick of the bowlers with 2/9 off 8 overs.
Goolwa came out to bat with vice captain Ward and young gun LeRay and they both looked hungry for runs.
They found the ropes on many occasions including a few bombs from Ward. LeRay was the first to go edging one to Kerin who took a blinder of a catch.
This brought the skipper Robertson to the crease and he looked to help Ward make it past his first 50 for the season and eqasiuly passed the Yankalilla total. Goolwa really needed the win as they just hold onto fourth spot.
Noarlunga won the toss and chose to bat. The opening batting pair of Sam Carlyle and Jason Scarff built the innings steadily in the first 20 over session, seeing the score to 75 without any trouble.
After that, the pace was picked up and the partnership was only broken in the 33rd over with the score at 173. Mack broke through to pick up Scarff's wicket for 99, one short of his first 100 for the year. A couple of quick wickets fell as Noarlunga chased more runs, all being taken by Mack, and Noarlunga finished the innings on 3 for 231.
Carlyle carried his bat with a score of 89, the third time in a row he has been not out (including a T20 match on Thursday night). Port Elliot came out to bat with a big total to chase and the innings never really got started. Seven wickets fell for a total of 47, with Noarlunga's opening bowlers David Scarff and Jake Kuss tearing through Port Elliott's batters.
A partnership between J Andrewartha, who top scored with 26 and Mack saw Port Elliot to the end of the first 20 over session, but it was broken immediately after the break. Andrewartha and Martin had another small partnership to give a bit of wag to the tail, but Port Elliot was finally bowled out in the 30th over for a total of 95. Jake Kuss topped Noarlunga's bowling line up with figures of 4/19 off his 8 overs.
