Willunga won the toss and elected to bat against Mount Compass. The openers for Willunga, Harding and Farrell got off to a blistering start, capitalising on any loose bowling from Mount Compass.
They found the boundary until Farrell was dismissed for 37. One wicket became two when the big wicket of Roberts was taken on the boundary by Loots, Tucker with two wickets. Harding was joined at the crease with skipper, Docking. Harding was dismissed for 38. Several positive partnerships took the Willunga total to 5/175 at the completion of the 40 overs.
The first Compass wicket fell in the first over as Loots was bowled by Hockham. Positive contributions by Heath and Burgess helped the run chase. Seasoned statesman B Garrard wound back clock and almost single handily won the game for the Dogs, making a tremendous 63. Compass fell just short, finishing at 9/166.
