FINAL STAGES: Project Surveyor Greg Bull of SKS Surveys working on site at the McLaren Vale Overpass. McLaren Vale bound traffic from the Victor Harbor Road was detoured on the overpass during the final stage of construction on the entry to Main Road.

McLaren Vale traffic will be detoured over the new bridge from tomorrow to allow the final stage of construction of the McLaren Vale Overpass project.

The final stage works will focus on the left turn entry into Main Road. This work is expected to be completed by Christmas, weather permitting.

While the Main Road works are underway, McLaren Vale bound traffic on Victor Harbor Road

from both the north and the south will be detoured via the new Martins Road intersection and the new bridge.

Drivers should also expect localised traffic changes on Victor Harbor Road with the progress of pavement resealing.

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises that access to businesses in the area will be maintained at all times.

DPTI thanks road users for their patience and understanding while works on this important project are completed.

When complete, the $18 million McLaren Vale Overpass project will:

- increase capacity and safety of traffic operations at the intersection by grade separation,

allowing free flow of all movements.

- allow traffic from McLaren Vale to merge safely with high speed traffic on Victor Harbor

Road.

- enable uninterrupted right turn movements out of / into Main Road.

- reduce queues and delays on the Main Road approach to Victor Harbor Road intersection

from McLaren Vale.
