UPDATE: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 9AM

Police have arrested and charged a 61-year-old Victorian woman with aggravated careless driving following the fatal crash at Langhorne Creek on Saturday, November 9. 

At about 4.15pm, police and ambulance crews were called to Langhorne Creek Road after a Hyundai sedan and a Toyota four-wheel-drive collided head-on near Lake Plains Road.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 56-year-old woman from Switzerland, died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, and the male passenger of the Hyundai were airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious injuries. Both are in a stable condition.

The Victorian woman was released on police bail to appear in court at a later date.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash, and specifically seeking the occupants of a red car, that was seen at the scene shortly after the collision occurred. 

This car left prior to police arrival.

Access to Langhorne Creek Road was blocked to other motorists after the accident while police investigated the scene. The road was reopened at 12.40am Sunday, November 10.
