City of Victor Harbor acting on coastal protection

VICTOR HARBOR - The City of Victor Harbor has replenished the sand along The Esplanade and Franklin Parade in an attempt to prevent further coastal erosion of the dunes.

While the council has conceded this is a short-term fix, a public meeting with state government environment representatives will be held later this month in order to try to pin down a more permanent solution.

In the past month, council representatives have met with coast expert associate professor Peter Waterman of Gold Coast University, the Coast Protection Board, Victor Harbor Coastcare, South Coast Dune Care and concerned residents to discuss potential solutions to the dune loss on The Esplanade.
