Sea and Vines McLaren Vale 2015 is this weekend

About 25,000 food and wine lovers are expected to visit wineries in McLaren Vale for the Bank SA Sea and Vines Festival this weekend.
Tourism minister Leon Bignell said the event was expected to generate more than $2.9 million for the local economy.
Now in its 23rd year, the Festival is a celebration of the world-class food and wine region.
“There is going to be a variety of events from degustation dinners with winemakers and chefs, to structured tours and activities for families,” Mr Bignell said.
“More than 30 wineries are taking place, from internationally renowned estates to hidden gems loved by locals like me.
“The region is also a food-lover’s delight and chefs Nu Suandokma, Glenn Carr, Robert Yates, and Andre Ursini will be there, along with locals Peter Reschke, Tom Boden, Todd Steele and Neil McGlew.”
This year also features new events including the Vine to Sea fun run from McLaren Vale to Moana, an interactive wine-label conception night with De Lisio Wines and a gourmet food tour hosted by local food-industry legend Pip Forrester.
There will also be a wine-lovers tour hosted by sommelier and author Matt Skinner and a fiesta shared by neighbouring wineries d’Arenberg and S.C. Pannell.
“The Festival is all about bringing people into regional South Australia to enjoy world-class premium food and wine,” Mr Bignell said.
“I am told it will be the most family-friendly Sea and Vines yet, with petting zoos and bouncy castles for the children at some locations."
Mr Bignell said there will be a significant police rpesence.
“The organisers have put together a great program of events, with something for everyone. It’s a great way to relax during the long weekend.”
