VICTOR HARBOR – Anti-Poverty Week is a national event that aims to encourage people to think about what they can do to alleviate poverty in the community.
To support this initiative and raise awareness, the City of Victor Harbor will be collecting donations of non-perishable foods for the disadvantaged. City of Victor Harbor mayor Graham Philp said council has been showing its support for this initiative since 2014.
“If you can spare a carton of long-life milk, a can of baked beans, spaghetti, soup or any tinned food, please join us in supporting this cause,” Mr Philp said.
Donations can be made from Monday, October 16, to Friday, October 20 at the Civic Centre, Church of Christ and Christian Gospel Centre. Donations collected will be provided to South Coast Community Christian Care.
