Geoff Lynn and his granddaughter Brooke-lynn’s shared love of cricket has seen them break new ground as inter-generational cricketing teammates. The pair are the Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association’s first ever grandfather-granddaughter combination playing for the Finniss Cricket Club’s D Grade team this year.
At 71 years of age, Geoff is among the oldest players in the A&EHCA. Over the years, Geoff has played cricket alongside his four sons and his grandson and now with his 16 year old granddaughter Brooke-lynn.
“I’ve had a lifelong love of cricket and playing alongside my sons and grandchildren is a big thrill,” Geoff said.
Brooke-lynn said watching her grandpa play cricket is the reason she plays.
In addition to playing senior cricket for Finniss, Brooke-lynn has enjoyed being part of the inaugural Upper Fleurieu Strikers Girls Cricket League, which commenced this summer.
