Goolwa’s Roger Rees has launched his book No Turning Back at the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club on Sunday, December 3. Roger was assisted at the launch by award winning poet Jude Aquilina.
One hundred and forty people attended the launch.
Roger has received many comments from reviewers, which he is proud of regrading the book.
They include: from Dorothy Freeman in Bowral NSW; “I have never read anything quite like it before. In fact I couldn't put it down as I became more and more immersed in the unfolding drama, and the heart rending but also heart warming conclusion to the story.”
Tony Fawcus another reviewer wrote; “I was entranced by your detailed descriptions of rural Ethiopia and its people. I also very much liked the parallels you drew between traditional beliefs and practices there and those of the Aboriginal people here in South Australia.”
And from the South Australian author Helen Sage; “I especially loved the pace, sustained throughout, and skillful pulling together of all the storylines The story has great depth and flows beautifully and lyrically.”
Jude Aquilina at the launch said there was a wonderful feel at the event. No Turning Back is published in Melbourne by Hybrid Publishers and is available at South Seas Bookshop in Port Elliot.
