Racing at the Victor Harbor Harness Racing Club on Wednesday, December 27, was a huge success with the meeting attracting people from all over the state and interstate.
There was plenty of fast racing action and activities for the children. Activities included face painting and amusements. For the adults there were full bar and TAB facilities and bookies on course.
The smell of a freshly cooked barbecue and backing a winner had the crowd in raptures throughout the day.
The event was the first of three race meetings held by the club this season, with the next being held on Monday, January 1, and the final meeting will be held on April 1, 2018.
Victor Harbor Harness Racing Club president Lynton Bishop said it was a great start for the club as it hosts its three race meetings.
“A good crowd turned up and the weather, although hot to begin with, turned out pretty good. The event could not happen without the support of Harness Racing SA, our sponsors and the local community. It really is a great day out for the family and the punter who like a bet,” Lynton said.
