Up to 834 people have benefited from the blood and plasma donations made to the Red Cross when the mobile blood donor centre visited in late January.
Blood Service spokeswoman Rebecca DiGirolamo said more than 270 locals, including six first-time donors, gave blood and plasma.
“We would like to thank our Victor Harbor donors for saving the lives of more than 800 people and encourage donors to start thinking ahead and book an appointment for our next visit in April,” she said.
“Our next visit coincides with the Anzac Day public holiday and we are expecting many of our regular donors will be away.
“We are asking Victor Harbor residents who haven’t given blood before to make their first donation when we next visit town and save three lives. All it takes is one hour.”
The Mobile Blood Donor Centre will be in Victor Harbor from April 23 to 27. To make an appointment to donate, call 13 14 95 or visit www.donateblood.com.au
