The Encounter Bay Family History Group has started offering monthly workshops at the Victor Harbor Library for people interested in family history.

The workshops cover a variety of topics that will appeal to all levels of experience, from beginners through to experienced researchers, who are writing a book about their family.

The workshops started on February 8 with ‘’Publishing Your Family History Book’’, and continues on March 8th with ‘’Getting Your Family History Started’’, and follows on April 12 with ‘’Family History Resources in Your Library’’.

There will be further workshops at the library every second Thursday of each month through until November 8, from 11am to 12 noon. It is advisable to reserve a seat as places are limited, call the library on 8551 0730.

Later topics will include: South Australian Resources; DNA and Family History Research; Trove and Family History; UK and Irish Resources for Family History; Military Records in Family History; Finding Your Convict Ancestors; and Interpreting Your DNA Results.
