Members of Victor Harbor Coastcare joined in with the rest of the nation for Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday March 4.
Fifteen regular members were joined by two grandchildren and three other guests who had generously volunteered to join in too.
It was a really productive day with seven bags of general rubbish being collected and three bags of recyclables.
The recyclables provided $11.40 from the recycling depot.
Coastline and foreshore was patrolled from the River Hindmarsh down to the causeway and then along to the River Inman.
Seven different stretches were assigned to different volunteers so as to get the length well-covered.
Members even ferreted around in the bushes looking for and finding rubbish.
Amazing and unusual rubbish included nine car tyres, three chairs, two four-gallon drums, one piece of galvanised iron, a body board, a Woolworths trolley and a traffic cone.
