With more than 900 competitors at the 24th Victor Triathlon Fun Run Walk on Sunday, March 11, the City of Victor Harbor appreciates what the event brings to the city. City of Victor Harbor mayor Graham Philp said the event projects a boost to the local economy.

“It not only attracts so many competitors, but it also has more than 3000 spectators come here to watch the event and support competitors,” Mr Philp said.

“There are many crews staying in Victor Harbor for anywhere between one and four nights and it is an opportunity to showcase our city and hopefully entice those people who attend this event to come back at another time.”

Mr Philp said council will be debriefing with the event organisers in the coming weeks. The City of Victor Harbor play a major role in hosting the event by supporting road closures and other in-kind support. Race director Sid James said the event could not be held without the support of council and residents.
