Country Fire Service (CFS) firefighters had a difficult situation on their hands when they were notified of a blaze burning at Inman Valley on Sunday, April 8.
The weather conditions fuelled the fire near Stockwell Road, Bald Hills Road and James Track as it burned towards Coomooloo Road, then Kemmiss Hill Road.
People in the area were urged to check and follow their bushfire survival plans, and people in surrounding towns were impacted by smoke.
The fire was contained by Tuesday. By then, about 50 hectares of farmland were burnt, but fortunately no structures were impacted by the fire.
Some appliances remained on the scene for a number of days following due to more warm, dry conditions to watch for flare-ups.
