Port Elliot Bowling Club were a host during the Seniors Supa Series and the club's greenkeeper Elmore Schumacher was presented with a Bowls SA Volunteer award for his outstanding efforts.
Members were thrilled that Saturday Div 3 made it to the grand final, but lost to Milang.
Men’s Skins 4’s - 28 teams included 22 visiting teams from as far afield as Waikerie, Modbury, Somerton and Holdfast Bay. Major money winners were teams entered by David March from Somerton and John Scholes from Waikerie.
April 10 was Presentation Night and AGM. Maryanne McGill was elected as president and Don Gifford vice president. Elmore Schumacher, Wayne Reynolds and Peter Barclay were voted on the board. Following the elections two new Life Members were announced, Gary Mellor awarded for innovative and entrepreneurial service over many years including introducing the club to new playing surfaces and programs which laid the foundation of the club’s current success and Dorothy Price for contribution through secretarial, publicity, establishment of programs and practices and researching and pursuing opportunities which have contributed to maintaining a financially strong club.
Encounter Bay – The club welcomed a number of visitors from Warracknabeal, Yankalilla and six players from Novar Gardens. New member, Barry Zarnich was also welcomed. The winners of the day were Charlie Norman, Rob Reed and Graham Rowell on 32 plus 25, second were Geoff Berg's team of Ros Male and Jim Taylor on 31 plus 15. Saturday Social Bowls winners were Roger Watt, Bruce Williams and Barry Zarnich.

There are still three events before Winter Bowls takes over. Friday, April 20, is Sponsor’s Night and the following Saturday is the Autumn Carnival with single entries only. This will feature three games of triples with the winners of the first two games playing off in the third.
Finally, Saturday, April 28, is the ‘Walk a mile or two’ show. Support the club and put your name on the sheets for all three events.
