The Mudlarks came out well in the second with several forward entries resulting in three goals to Hill, plus singles to Miller and Carroll. Coach Allen was in and around the packs while Haverty was given too much room and Myponga/Sellicks were up by 16 points at the long break. They extended it to 18 points at the final break.

The final quarter saw Elliot convert the first and then James another to put the visitors within 6 points, but that’s how the day ended with neither side unable to score in the final minutes. The Mudlarks did not score in the last, but held on to a six point win to start 2018. Best for the Mudlarks were Allen, M Merrett and Hill and for Strathalbyn, James, A Clark and Christie.
