The season has started in wild fashion with the two biggest winners being the team that won the premiership and the one which won the last three wooden spoons.

McLaren are showing so early they will be a force in 2018 after being the perennial cellar dweller. McLaren totally destroyed Yankalilla to the tune of 103 points.

Mount Compass proved to everyone there is no premiership hangover at the kennel. They demolished Goolwa/Port Elliot by 114 points.

In the other three games the scores were much closer. Myponga/Sellicks won by six points against Strathalbyn, Encounter Bay defeated last season’s grand finalist Willunga by 17 points and Langhorne Creek produced a workman like display defeating Victor Harbor by 21 points.

Round two boasts some classic games. Willunga host Langhorne Creek and the duel between Sellar and Bass will be a beauty. Two class players locking horns is what our competition needs.

Hoffmann for the Demons played well with three goals in round one and the likes of James will have the job to curtail that influence.

Kiss Of Death – Langhorne Creek by 7 points.

Strathalbyn take on the confident Bays and with Davis and Neale in red hot form there is no stopping the Bays.

James and Christie should give the likes of O’Grady and Tucker first use, but the Roosters forward line will have difficulty keeping the ball in the forward arc with the rebound of Turner and Tonkin too strong.

Kiss Of Death – Encounter Bay by 19 points.

Victor Harbor host Myponga/Sellicks and the Roos need Dowling, Elmes and Wade to keep improving and learn from the likes of Alleway and Ross. Carroll will need to be curtailed if the Roos are to win and new players Hill and Merrett certainly look dangerous near goal.

Kiss Of Death – Victor Harbor by 14 points.

Goolwa/Port Elliot take on Yankalilla and both teams need a win after being hammered in round one. Gransden, Fry, Pearce and Nissen will pit themselves against Tigers Fitzgerald, Bartlett, Kay and Wilson.

Kiss Of Death – Goolwa/Port Elliot by 3 points.

McLaren take on Mount Compass and this match will be exciting. Mutton kicked eight goals in round one, but Pinyon pipped him with 12. There are so many brilliant match ups in this and the best one could be Ellis against Veide. McLaren have come along way quickly.

Kiss Of Death – Mount Compass by 12 points.
