Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie said it was an honour to attend the opening of the new home of the Strathalbyn RSL Sub-branch on Monday, April 9. The project is part of the building project with the Strathalbyn Football Club.
“This is a magnificent facility is a wonderful example of what a community can achieve when everyone works together,” Ms Sharkie said.
“It was my privilege as the local Federal Member to assist the football club with facilitation of the $30,000 grant through the Community Development Grants Program following the 2016 Federal Election and to help the club and the RSL with their interactions with the Government to make this project a reality.”
The Strathalbyn RSL Sub-Branch was officially opened by South Australian Governor Hieu Van Le.
Other dignitaries to attend included Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick, Alexandrina Council mayor Keith Parkes, Member for Heysen Josh Teague, June Perry the vice president of the Mount Barker RSL, Ms Sharkie, Governor Hieu Van Le and his wife Lan and Strathalbyn RSL president Cate Goodall.
