Lutherans gather for convention

Victor Harbor Mayor, Graeme Philp, welcomed about 250 women and some men to the 51st Annual Lutheran Women of SA/NT Convention to Victor Harbor.

Women from as far as Alice Springs joined together in worship, thanks and business under the theme “Bloom where you are planted”. Members of Victor Harbor Lutheran were privileged to bloom in many menial tasks, from car parking (in spite of road works), to welcoming with a cuppa and homemade biscuits, floral arrangements, and setting up and cleaning up.

Many displays were on show about the different branches of  our church – from mission to teaching and 2 local “shops” – Sabal’s plants in aid of Lutheran World Service and VH Christian Friendship Centre that aids local chaplaincy and mission.

Guest speakers and think spots showed how we can “bloom where we are planted” in whatever we do and where ever we are.

It was an enjoyable day of worship and meeting together of friends learning more about the workings of our church and the many mission opportunities both here, wider community and overseas.
