Langhorne Creek created a good 70 point victory over Yankalilla with a classy first term. The Hawks booted 5-3 to the Tigers’ one straight goal.

Kellock for the Hawks, is predominantly a tough midfielder, but surprised the Yankalilla defence by playing forward.

Kellock was unstoppable and although Yankalilla fought back in the second term due to great efforts from Laba, Kelly, McCallum and Kay, the Hawks bounced back with a scintillating last half.

Jesse Fitzgerald joined Kelly in the forward lines for Yankalilla and the pair proved a handful for the Hawks.

Langhorne Creek led at every break and had winners around the football. Earl, Perrey, Blackwell and the Cleggett boys played well and set up many goals for the inspiring Kellock.

At halftime Langhorne Creek led by 42 points and at three quarter time it had blown out to 59 points.

Howell was among the goals with Kellock, but to the Tigers’s credit, they never gave up with L Bartlett and Laba fighting hard.

Kelly and J Fitzgerald finished the game with four goals apiece for the Tigers to be among their best.

However it was Kellock’s day, as he finished with 10 goals in a best afield display.

Final scores were Langhorne Creek 21-13 to Yankalilla 10-9.
