Victor Harbor’s new wave of arts and cultural activity will be launched with a ‘Big Splash’ on Friday, June 22.
The City of Victor Harbor will host the Big Splash event at the Town Hall and invites the public to drop in to see an array of performances and exhibitions from local artists between 7pm and 9pm. The Victor Harbor RSL Sub-Branch have also jumped on board with the event and will host the Victor Jazz Club at its club rooms at the Old Library building.
The event will see a stellar line up of local artists including vocalist Ana Marina, aerialist Lucina, DJ Jude Alexander, stars from the South Coast Choral and Arts Society’s Les Miserables, new musical group Centre Stage, poet Nigel Ford, and artist Hamish MacMillan.
There will also be a ‘Blow Up Your Art’ projection on the building next to the Town Hall and stallholders from the Victor Harbor Artisan Market.
City of Victor Harbor Mayor Graham Philp said the town’s arts and culture sector was gaining momentum and there had been a lot of exciting developments.
“Over the past two years there has been a strong push from the community to see the development of arts and culture in Victor Harbor. The Big Splash event is an opportunity to make a statement and celebrate the development of the arts in our community,” he said.
The Big Splash is a free community event. Visit www.victor.sa.gov.au/bigsplash for more information.
