Port Noarlunga band Loaded Billy will be performing at a newly-established live music venue in Goolwa.

The Wreckers Live finds its home in a shed in the industrial zone at Goolwa, and after running a number of great events they will host the heavy rock/stoner rock band Loaded Billy.

Loaded Billy was conceived as a writing project by drummer and songwriter Willi Gutwein and guitarist and songwriter Trevor Moyle.

While Willi moved to Sydney and Trevor headed to Canada, they maintained their friendship and upon returning to their hometown of Adelaide they wrote some songs and put a band together.

The band plays a genre that ruled the airways predominantly in the 70s and 80s. They play original songs and also specialise in playing different covers – especially songs by legend hard rock band Budgie.

They will play at The Wreckers Live, 4 Dowdodd Crescent, Goolwa from 8pm on Saturday, July 7. Entry is $10. For more information visit www.loadedbilly.com

Duo Jackson to perform in Goolwa

A classic guitar and a violin will make for the unique combination set to perform at Goolwa next Friday.

Investigator College Goolwa will open the doors to its hall to see the New Zealand string pair Duo Jackson perform from 7.30pm.

The husband-and-wife duo is about to start an Australian tour in Adelaide, releasing their eighth CD and playing shows in Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.

They have been performing for 40 years and will play a varied program of jazz, gypsy, Latin, and classical.

Margaret and Miles have travelled the world to perform, including Singapore, Spain, France, Italy and Sardinia, but they are also both teachers in their home town of Nelson.

The concert will commence at 7.30pm with tickets available at the door. A light supper will be included.
