Middleton artist Chris Murphy has once again made his mark on the district with his latest sculpture, now erected in front of the Mitre 10 in Port Elliot.

With assistance from fellow artist Lucas Robins, Chris created a unique sign in his trademark rustic ironworks design based on a concept decided by Mitre 10 owner Ben Easom.

Ben said he decided on a sign as he believed it would be an interactive piece of artwork for visitors to his store to appreciate.

The sign, which took Chris and Lucas around 250 hours to complete, points to a number of locations all around Australia.

The destinations range from some of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations like Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef to a couple of humorous locations like the shop’s Trade Centre just 43 metres away.

It also features a number of South Australia’s top tourist spots, including the Barossa Valley and the South Coast’s own Boomer Beach.
